Newton was born on December 25th,1642
in Woolsthorpe, Lincoln, England. As a boy, he often made mathematical device

The
Farmer, The Son, and The Donkey
One day, a
farmer and his son were walking to town with their donkey. They were going to
sell the donkey at the market.
On the road, they met some young
girls. The girls laughed and said, “Look how foolish they are ! Both of them
are walking, and one of them could be riding on the donkey.” When the farmer
heard this, he told his son to get up on the donkey and ride.
But soon they passed two men
standing near the road. “Look at that !” said one of the men. “That young boy
is riding while his poor old father has to walk.” So the son got off the
donkey, and the farmer got on. They continued down the road toward town.
After a short time, they came to
some old women standing at a corner. One of them asked the farmer. “How can
you let the child walk while you ride ? He must be very tired. What kind of a
father are you ?” So the farmer lifted his son up, both of them rode until
they reached the town.
When they got to the town, a man saw
them and asked. “Is that donkey yours ?” “Yes.” Said the farmer. “You are
making the animal work too hard.” Said the man. “You two are better able to
carry that donkey than the donkey is to carry you !”
The farmer and his son got off the
donkey’s back. But they did not know how they could carry the animal. They
thought and thought. Then the farmer had an idea. He cut a strong stick from
a tree. Then he tied the donkey’s feet to it with strong rope. He carried one
end of the wooden stick, and the son carried the other end.
At the town bridge, a crowd of
people was standing and watching them. They were laughing, pointing, and

Orang-utan means ’ forest man’ a very suitable name
for the largest of the tree dwelling apes; a large male can weigh 90 kg.
Orang-utans live in Sumatra and
Kalimantan. They are very gentle animals and live quietly several meters off
the ground. They spend their time moving from meal to meal by passing from
tree to tree, swinging rather than jumping, using their long arms to
carefully reach out the gaps among trees.
It is thought that there are about
150,000 wild orang-utan, but only about 20,000 are in reserves and safety
protected from danger. The main threat to the orang-utans come from logging
companies, or from people who illegally capture and sell orang-utans as pets.
The logging companies exploit the living rain forests for timber but in doing
so destroy the environment for the orang-utans. The orang-utans need dense forest so that
they can easily move from tree to tree in searching for food. The destruction
of the rain forest could also bring about the extinction of the orang-utans.

Butterflies start out as eggs.
Butterflies lay their eggs on leaves. The eggs hatches into caterpillar with
a tube-shaped body. The caterpillar eats a lot and grows fast. Some
caterpillars harm plants.
When a caterpillar is full
size, it goes into another stage called a chrysalis. Caterpillars attach
themselves to something solid before becoming a chrysalis.
The caterpillar inside the
chrysalis changes into butterfly. Some butterflies make the change in one
week. Some butterflies take years to change.
When the change is complete,
the adult butterfly splits the chrysalis. The insect unfolds its wings and
pumps blood and air into them. It spreads out the wings until the dry and
harden. The beautiful butterfly then flies off to slurp nectar from flowers.
